This lot contains three distinctive mid-century United States banknotes, each representing a unique era of American monetary history.
$5 Red Seal United States Note (Series 1963): Serial A39807478A.
Why It’s Special: This series is historically significant as the last year Red Seal $5 notes were issued. It was also the first $5 note to feature the motto "In God We Trust" on the reverse above Lincoln Memorial.
$2 Red Seal United States Note (Series 1953): Serial A37243892A.
Why It’s Special: This is the "plain" 1953 series (no suffix letter), representing the first year of the redesigned $2 small-size note where the seal was moved to the right side of the portrait.
$1 Silver Certificate (Series 1935D): Serial B98741138G.
Why It’s Special: This is a "No Motto" note. Unlike later 1935 series (like the 1935G or H), the 1935D does not have "In God We Trust" printed on the back. It represents the pre-Cold War design of the American dollar.
