1923 $1 Silver Certificate Horse Blanket The Series of 1923 $1 Silver Certificate is famously known as a "Horse Blanket" due to its large physical dimensions ($7 \frac{3}{8}$ by $3 \frac{1}{8}$ inches), which are approximately 50% larger than modern U.S. currency. This was the final series of large-size one-dollar bills ever issued before the transition to the small-size notes in 1928. It features the blue treasury seal and the iconic portrait of George Washington. The serial number E75574056D belongs to the common Speelman-White or Woods-White signature combinations, which were printed in high volume. Unlike silver coins, these notes are not redeemable for physical bullion and do not have a "melt floor"; their value is derived entirely from their numismatic rarity and paper condition. This specimen is assumed to be in mid-grade circulated condition (Very Fine/Extremely Fine). Please refer to the photos to evaluate the crispness of the paper, the presence of folds, and the vibrancy of the blue ink.
